FORT WAYNE – Fort Wayne Tin Caps alums comprise over half of the San Diego Padres’ top ten prospects according to Baseball America.
RHP Simon Castro, who helped lead the TinCaps to a Midwest League championship in 2009, is one of six Fort Wayne alums who made the list.
Castro, 22, was the highest-ranked former TinCap, slotting in at No. 3. He pitched at Double-A San Antonio in 2010 and was the starting pitcher at the Futures Game, which showcases the top prospects in all of baseball.
RHP Matt Lollis was ranked fifth. The 20-year-old joined the TinCaps late in 2010 and went 5-2 with a 1.66 ERA, then dominated in a playoff win against Great Lakes.....
