Decatur Daily Democrat:
On the final roll of the sectional championship roll-off, Bellmont's A.J. McCoy knocked down nine pins and it was just enough as he successfully defended his individual singles sectional crown by beating Huntington North's E.J. Tackett 204-203.
It was a step-ladder playoff, so McCoy had to win three head-to-head matches after a 629 (256, 193, 180) series to qualify fourth among the final four. It was held at the Bowling Center in Bluffton.
The Bellmonter defeated teammate Justin Hamrick (646 qualifier) 243-226. He then downed Huntington's Eli Little 218-158 to earn a shot at Tackett, who had rolled a spectacular 793 series to qualify first and wait for the final challenge....
