Bauman to retire as Senior Center director after 14 years

When Myrna Bauman applied for the job as facility manager/activity director for the newly-constructed South Adams Senior Center, she felt like she had two strikes against her. First she had never had any previous experience of working in management at a senior center. Second, were she to be hired, the open house for the new center was scheduled for Feb. 29, 1996, and she and her husband, Steve, already had airplane tickets for a trip to the Bahama Islands.....
