Elected officials mutiny over wages

Hartford City News Times:

When six county department heads, of both political parties, did not have a chance to speak at the June 9 county council meeting, what they wanted to say was:

• We’re all upset and our employees are all upset– Laura Coons (R), county clerk of courts.
• Obviously, we need a better written salary ordinance – Fred Tobey (R), county treasurer.
• I don’t understand the reasoning. One time they raise (wages) one way and at another meeting they raise them another way. We wanted an explanation. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to the raises they’ve given – Ed Hollander (D), county treasurer....
