Lahr seeks return to clerk-treasurer post

Jay Lahr, who served three terms as Huntington clerk-treasurer, has announced plans to seek election to that office on the Republican ballot.

The office is currently held by Republican Christi Scher, who won election in 2007.

The filing period for major party candidates who intend to run in the May primary opens on Jan. 19.

Lahr, 60, is a lifelong resident of Huntington. He has a business administration degree from Huntington University and has attended courses and seminars on municipal government sponsored by the Indiana League of Municipal Clerks and Treasurers (ILMCT) and Ball State University.....
