The first South Adams school board meeting of 2011 was monopolized mostly by the sale of the former elementary property in Berne on Tuesday evening. Attorney Tim Baker and surveyor Brett Miller, both hired by school superintendent Scott Litwiller, were present to discuss their findings and the options available to the school.
After the Berne Planning Commission meeting Monday evening, which was dedicated solely to the school’s plans for the property, the school board had many questions and much to discuss. One of the major issues brought up at the commission meeting was the question of a requirement of a variance on the land due to the planning and development zoning classification....(more)
