Mayoral candidates react to online vote

FORT WAYNE - Mayor Tom Henry's opponents in the 2011 election reacted Friday to the national spotlight put on Fort Wayne as a result of an online voting campaign to name the new city-county government center.

“It's clear Mayor Henry can roll with the punches, but it's not clear that he can lead,” Republican mayoral candidate Paula Hughes said in an interview with our partner in news, WANE-TV. Hughes is disappointed in the city's first use of a social media consultant hired by the current administration.

“To spend money on a social media contract, you should have used somebody local and it's clear that this Chicago firm did not have a handle on what the values of Fort Wayne are,” Hughes said....
