OSSIAN – Norwell did its heavy lifting early, racing out to an 8-0 lead against South Adams and then put the game on cruise control as it beat the Starfires 64-43 Tuesday night in varsity boys’ basketball at the Castle.
South Adams (4-11) answered the early Norwell run with a 7-2 spurt midway through the first period, but the Knights answered with a 10-0 finish to the quarter to go ahead by 13.
The Knights continued to pull away, opening the second quarter with 11 straight points to up their lead to 31-7 before a pair of Ben Meshberger free throws snapped the run and got South Adams back on the board.
