School board approves position changes

The Huntington County Community School Corporation Board of School Trustees approved the merger of two positions and an addition of a support staff member in an effort to save money on Monday night, Oct. 11.

Superintendent of Schools Tracey Shafer told the board two specialist positions stood vacant, Technology Integration and Data Integration. He said $60,000 in grant money is available to put toward the technology position the first year, and he believed one qualified person could handle both positions if a secretary was in place to provide support to both the technology and maintenance department -both of which are experiencing the same situation of stretching personnel thin.....
