Unable to clear the cobwebs from a 13-day layoff, South Adams had trouble finding the basket and dropped its varsity boys’ basketball game Thursday night at the Stardome to Blackford 39-21.
The 39-point defensive effort was the second best of the season for the Starfires, now 3-10, but the 21-point offensive output was its second worst of the season and less than half of their season average.
South Adams went six minutes before its first score and trailed 6-2 as a result. Blackford opened with a 6-0 run in the first three minutes, but both teams went quiet over the next three before Dustin Wanner stole the ball and scored to get the Starfires on the board.....
