Red Cross schedules blood drives in Huntington County as weather slows collections across the area

Two American Red Cross blood drives are coming up in Huntington County.

The Knight-Bergman Center will host a drive Thursday, Feb. 17, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the main room. The center is located at 132 S. Nancy St. in Warren.

Then the Evangelical United Methodist Church will host a drive Monday, Feb. 28, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. The church is located at 1000 Flaxmill Rd. in Huntington.

With this latest round of severe winter storms, the local American Red Cross has been unable to collect over 820 expected pints of blood over the course of the last three days.

More than 20 blood drives across the 50-county coverage area were forced to cancel throughout the week.....
