How to handle a power outage

FORT WAYNE - With reports of ice-covered conditions in areas near Fort Wayne, Indiana Michigan Power said it continues to monitor storm conditions and make preparations for snow and ice forecasted to hit the service territory.

While local utility service has not yet been impacted, earlier reports of 1/4 inch of ice covered Muncie and Marion Tuesday morning. Additional sleet and freezing rain are said to impact the area late Tuesday afternoon and evening.

To prepare, I&M is rolling out a continued staging process to ensure adequate resources are available to address potential outages throughout the region. I&M said it has sufficient supplies and properly equipped vehicles to make the restoration process as safe and efficient as possible....
