Rev. Jerry Flueckiger, who has served on the Adams County Council on Aging Board for the past 12 years, relayed the story of visiting the home of an individual battling cancer.
"He was growing progressively weaker, but had a desire to stay at home as long as possible," said Flueckiger. "As a Council on Aging, we are able to prolong the time people can stay in their homes. They desire not to go to Chalet Village, Swiss Village or Woodcrest. We are able to provide services to help people to be independent as long as possible."
Flueckiger said that in the past year 250-300 county residents called on the council for services. He noted that a majority of the services provided are.....
