"For the most part, nothing has really changed overnight except we had a little water on E. Monroe St.," Decatur Street/Sanitation Superintendent Jeremy Gilbert said at 7:45 a.m. today.
E. Monroe St. was passable this morning and no water was on Monmouth and Piqua roads leading to Bellmont high and middle schools. US 224 at Jackson St. remained closed, however.
North Adams officials had buses parked at the Decatur Chamber of Commerce lot off Jackson St. near First St. and was offering the option of bussing students and/or parents to the schools in the event they didn't wish to travel on E. Monroe St.
The St. Marys River, meanwhile, was continuing to rise, although slowly. It stood at 22.26 feet at 7 a.m. today, up a foot from a 21.2-foot reading at the same time Tuesday....
