A decision of closing one or more Huntington County elementary schools could be made by the end of April.
Nine options that would help the Huntington County Community School Corporation cut $2.5 million from its budget over the next three years were presented to the school board on Monday evening, March 14, which drew a crowd to its meeting at Huntington North High School.
Superintendent Tracey Shafer said the corporation is dealing with decreasing student enrollment and increasing budget cuts, requiring the board to consider more efficient uses of the corporation's facilities.....
