It's "C" in Latin and "cent" in French.
That's how you write "100" in those languages.
Both Latin and French were taught in Decatur and Bellmont high schools by Charlotte Vera of Decatur, who has lived here more than 60 years and will turn a spritely 100 this October 1.
Vera, who was born in Jay County in 1910, is in good health and has lived in the nursing center at Woodcrest Retirement Community since 2003, when she fell and then made a nice recovery from a broken hip....
