The word, “leotard,” proved to be the magic word for Adams Central eighth grader Cooper Hill in the Adams County Spelling Bee which was held at Wyneken Memorial Lutheran School on Thursday night.
The scenario for the championship moment was set up when South Adams eighth grader Andrew Beachey, misspelled the word, “credenza.” Hill then corrected spelled, “fiesta.” When Wyneken’s Audra Butler followed by misspelling, “omnivorous,” Hill trumped it with his correct spelling to win the contest....
