Decatur, Geneva police to join crackdown

Decatur Daily Democrat:

Leaders of the Decatur Police Department and the Geneva Marshall's Department have announced that their agencies will join a statewide crackdown on impaired and dangerous driving from March 5-21.
That time period was selected because it includes St. Patrick's Day and March basketball tournaments at the high school and college...

Assessing changes noted

Adams County Assessor Judy Affolder pointed out in a news release some changes this year in assessing personal property.
She said most township assessing officials across Indiana were eliminated in 2008 and, in 2009, all personal property assessing responsibilities became the duty of the county assessor's office....

Change at top at hospital

Decatur Daily Democrat:

A change in the leadership at Adams Memorial Hospital (AMH) was announced this week with hospital Assistant Executive Director Jo-Ellen Eidam now in charge of day-to-day operations of the facility.
AMH Executive Director Marvin L. Baird noted the change, saying that while he remains the CEO of the hospital, Eidam will now assume the title of Chief Operating Officer reporting directly to Baird.
Baird, who has been with the hospital for the past 21 years, said Adams County Hospital was "one of the last hospitals in this area of the state" to have just one administrator in charge.
"This job is becoming more and more involved to the point that you really need to have an inside and outside of the facility person running the operation...

Dance Collective offers teachers’ workshop Feb, 28

The Fort Wayne Dance Collective is offering a special workshop for teachers of dance, wellness and other movement arts on Sunday, Feb. 28, 1 to 4 p.m. at 437 East Berry St., Fort Wayne.
Facilitated by prominent Fort Wayne community dance teachers Brittan Coughlin, Lisa Busfield and Liz Monnier (artistic director of the FW Dance Collective),, this workshop includes learning and reinforcing skills invaluable to any educator of dance or movement, such as classroom management, building progressions and best practices.

Geneva council holds meeting, hears department reports
