Foresters exit MCC tourney with 56-54 loss

Despite a last-minute push that almost reversed the tide of the game, the No. 4-seed Huntington University men's basket-ball team lost to visiting fifth-seed Spring Arbor University, 56-54, on Wednesday, Feb. 23, in the first round of the Mid-Central Conference Tournament.

The Foresters, 21-10, suffered from poor shooting and failure to get their hands on rebounds. Huntington completed only 20 of 58 shots for 34.5 percent, with 4 of 18, 22.2 percent, coming from behind the arc.
However, Huntington was able to complete all 10 free throw attempts.

HU only could control 31 rebounds, including just eight offensive, while Spring Arbor, 18-14, recorded 43.

After trailing the entire match and faced with a 10-point deficit, Tyler Shively hit a three with 6:50 left in the game that kickstarted a 12-2 run that tied the game at 54-54 with 52 seconds left....
