Thieves targeting specific car part
East Allen Times:
FORT WAYNE - Our partner in news, WANE-TV, reported that police in Fort Wayne are seeing an increase in the number of thieves stealing catalytic converters from vehicles in the area. It takes just minutes for them to cut off the part and then sell the scrap metal.
Allen County Sheriff Ken Fries said there is something you can do to deter a would-be thief.
In the last three months, Bill Prostman of Napa Auto Parts has had three catalytic converters stolen from his work vehicles. He said not only is it frustrating, but expensive to replace. ...
