Few unlicensed daycare programs join Ind. system

INDIANAPOLIS — Few unlicensed daycare ministries are joining a voluntary Indiana quality rating and improvement system even as it recently reached a milestone.
The Indiana Family and Social Services Administration announced this week that its Paths to Quality program to improve the level of child care available for families has enrolled 2,000 daycares in the three years since it began.
FSSA says 85 percent of licensed child centers and half of licensed family-based daycares have enrolled but only 4 percent of unlicensed registered ministries. That's about the same participation as a year ago for the unlicensed ministries....
