Board recommends tourist town stays dry

East Allen Times:

LAGRANGE — Shipshewana residents made it clear Wednesday morning they want to keep their small town dry.

The LaGrange County Alcoholic Beverage Board backed up that sentiment by unanimously voting to recommend denying a permit to sell warm beer and wine at GasAmerica’s Shipshewana location.

“The outcome was very encouraging for us as a community and me as an individual as well,” said Shipshewana resident Kevin Lambright. “We are happy because of the adverse effects it could have on the community if it was to pass.”.....
