DEA, state police offer free drug disposal

East Allen Times:

INDIANAPOLIS — Hoosiers will have a chance to safely dispose of old, unwanted prescription drugs next month.
Most Indiana State Police posts and several other agencies across the state will be taking part in the Drug Enforcement Administration's second annual National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on April 30.
The DEA says the service is free and anonymous. During the first event last September, Americans turned in more than 121 tons of drugs at sites across the country.
The agency says drugs that languish in medicine cabinets are particularly susceptible to abuse. The DEA says more Americans abuse prescription drugs than use cocaine, heroin and hallucinogens combined.
