Community voices concern for Chico the chihuahua

East Allen Times:

FORT WAYNE - After being found emaciated, wrapped in a blanket and left in a garage to die, Chico the chihuahua was taken by the Allen County Sheriff's Department Thursday to Animal Care and Control (ACC) for immediate medical care.
"That little Chihuahua is not out of the woods yet," said ACC spokesperson Peggy Bender. "That dog still has a long way to go. (He's) taking in a little food, taking in a little water, but without any body mass, (he) just really has no energy."
According to Bender, Chico is at risk for secondary infections because of a supressed immune system....
