McKean declares as Republican candidate for mayor

Berne Tri-Weekly News:

Local businessman Bill McKean has decided to run for the office of mayor of Berne as a Republican candidate in this fall's election. The local barber said that he has given the position much thought and would like to serve the community in that capacity, if elected.
"After losing a close election four years ago by three votes, many people have asked me if I would run again," said McKean. "The (Republican) party has encouraged me. I have decided this time that I am going to run."
McKean served for 24 years on the Berne City Council, and he was council president for sixteen of those years.
