Geneva Town Council approves financing for 2010 Town Festival

After considerable discussion, Geneva town council approved financing for this year’s town festival, which will be held on June 26. The event will include a concert, fireworks, and various other events. Village Clerk-Treasurer Bill Warren noted that total expenses for the event are estimated at $12,368. Of that amount, $2,750 has been donated through special means, and the Geneva Volunteer Fire Department is donating $5,000. The remaining amount, $4,618, will come out of the park equipment fund. Council members raised some concern because the park equipment fund is formed from tax revenue, but Warren said that organizers hoped that money raised from the event would more than cover the amount. ....
